INHS Coronavirus (COVID-19) Status – NEW UPDATE – March 16,
2020
Effective March 17, 2020, Gov. Jay Inslee has directed all public
and private colleges and universities to restrict in-classroom instruction and
move to online learning. Hands-on instruction, such as labs and clinical
training, can continue but with INHS employee oversite to ensure adherence to
the new social distancing measures are met.
INHS will continue EMS training by moving all didactic/classroom
lectures to a web-based portal. Lab based education will meet new social
distancing measures but students can expect to see reduced or varied lab hours
and a reduction in the total number of students/instructors in attendance.
Please check your emails routinely as you will be receiving a link to your
online classroom soon.

INHS Coronavirus (COVID-19) Status – March 13, 2020
As a healthcare based organization that diligently trains and
educates the next generation of EMS providers and nursing assistants, we take
seriously the health of each student and by extension, their patients. At this
time, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 associated with INHS.
It is our intent to keep all students safe and informed of this
quickly changing situation as it relates to their schooling. As of today, we
are continuing normal operations to include regularly scheduled didactic
classes, clinical rotations and field internship shifts. The Spokane Regional
Public Health District is not advising the closure of our school or any other
Spokane school or business. However, this is a fluid situation and that
recommendation may change. The decision to suspend Clinical rotations and field
internship will also involve direction from our partnering organizations.
Should the decision be made to suspend classes or internships, students will be
notified via email. This information will also be posted on the
Healthtraining.inhs.org/vocational-education/ website. Students can expect to
be assigned distributive education in the instance of school cancellation.
INHS is taking extra precautions to keep our campus clean and
sanitized. As we have recommended in the past and continue to do, students will
need to wash their hands regularly and work to disinfect all lab equipment and
supplies after use. Should you feel sick, please inform your instructor and
stay home.
